Test Rig

Is your hydraulic pump healthy? We test it under real load — performance and endurance — and give you a clear report before a weak pump becomes a breakdown.

What our rig sees: healthy vs worn pump

Flow delivered as pressure rises

0 20 40 60 80 0 50 100 150 200 250 Pressure (bar) Flow (L/min) Healthy — 96% efficient Worn — 73% efficient Shaded gap = flow lost to internal leakage

Illustrative example. Your report shows the real curves for your pump.

When to get a pump tested

  • After a repair or overhaul Prove it’s back to spec before you refit it.
  • Before fitting a spare Check a new or stored pump on arrival, not after installation.
  • When the machine changes Slower cycles, more heat or more noise can mean a worn pump.
  • Incoming quality check Verify purchased pumps meet their rated output.
  • Warranty questions Settle them with test data instead of opinions.

How the testing service works

Tell us about the pump

Make, model, displacement, rated pressure and speed, and what’s going wrong.

Send it or bring it in

Deliver the pump to our test facility.

We test it

A performance test, and an endurance run if you need one, with a cycle profile matched to your machine.

You get a report

Curves, efficiency, temperatures and a clear verdict, tagged with your part and serial number.

Two tests, one rig

Performance test

Does this pump still deliver its rated output?

  • Steps through pressure and speed under real load
  • Plots pressure vs flow and pressure vs power
  • Calculates volumetric efficiency on the spot

Endurance test

Will it last in service?

  • Runs a custom cycle profile — time, pressure and flow per step
  • Repeats it for as many cycles as you specify
  • Logs temperatures, pressures and alarms for every cycle

Throughout both tests the rig watches inlet and outlet pressure, main and case-drain flow, speed, power, oil temperature and filter condition, and stops safely on any trip.

What’s in the report

Every test ends with a report you can file, share with your supplier, or use to decide whether to refit, repair or replace.

Case-drain flow is the one to watch: it is oil leaking past worn internal parts, and it rises long before a pump fails outright.

The test software, explained

Built in-house by HVK. Click any screen to see it full size.

Performance test screen with pressure versus power curves
Performance test. Live pressure-vs-flow and power curves, with volumetric efficiency calculated as the test runs.
Endurance cycle profile table and profile plot
Cycle profile. Any endurance profile is built as a simple table of time, pressure and flow per step.
Endurance test running with cycle counter and live trends
Endurance run. Cycle counter and live trends for long-duration tests.
Main rig screen showing all sensors, alarms and outputs
Main screen. Every sensor, alarm and output in one view; each test is tagged with customer, part and serial number.

Need a rig in your own plant?

Pump makers and large users can have a test rig built for their own line. HVK designs the hydraulics, structure, electrics, instrumentation and software in-house, so one team owns the whole rig.

  • Piston, gear or vane
  • Fixed or variable
  • Load-sensing or pressure-compensated
